In a heartbreaking turn of events, fitness influencer Gloria Zamora, 40, and her date Hector Garduno, 43, were shot and killed outside a restaurant in Fontana, California, on the night of June 21. Police say Zamora’s estranged husband, Thomas Alberto Tamayo Lizarraga, was behind the attack. The couple leaves behind a total of 11 children between them.

Zamora, a well-known online figure with over 150,000 Instagram followers, had recently spoken on her podcast about ending her marriage. Authorities believe the shooting was connected to their ongoing divorce.

Fontana police reported that off-duty officers were nearby during the attack, and a San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputy who happened to be driving past intervened. He fatally shot the suspect at the scene. Police have not yet released Lizarraga’s identity officially.

Zamora’s daughter, Jazlynne, shared an emotional tribute through a GoFundMe page, describing her mother as an inspiring figure who was full of love and encouragement. Garduno’s family also launched a fundraising page, remembering him as a loving and hardworking father.

Zamora’s seven children, ages 8 to 24, now face a future without their mom. Police say the investigation is still ongoing.
