Herdsmen attack in Benue communities continues, where the government has confirmed the deaths of over 25 people following renewed attacks by suspected herdsmen in two local government areas of the state, the affected communities, Gwer West and APA local government area, were visited by Governor hyacinth Alia delegation during an on the spot assessment of the violence. 

The Governor was represented by his chief of staff, Paul Biam, who was accompanied by heads of all security agencies in the state. 

During the visit, Biam conveyed the governor's condolences and assured residents that the state government is intensifying efforts to restore peace and security in the troubled areas.

In Naka, the traditional ruler expressed deep concern over the growing number of displaced persons and the continued loss of lives. And expressed his concerns that the attacked village is directly opposite Military checkpoint.

Meanwhile, in angpale diku, eyewitnesses describe the attack as sudden and unprovoked, saying 10 people were killed in that incident, with several others injured.

The community has since been deserted. Authorities say the attackers likely use the forest corridor linking both communities to flee the scene, a tactic that has been Used in similar incidents in the past.
