Eileen Fulton, beloved for her unforgettable role as Lisa Grimaldi on the long-running soap opera As the World Turns, has passed away at the age of 91.
She died on Monday, July 14, in Asheville, North Carolina, after a period of declining health, as confirmed by an obituary from Groce Funeral Home.
Fulton’s journey to stardom began after she studied drama and music at Greensboro College. In 1956, she made the leap to New York City, chasing her dreams with determination. Just a few years later, in 1960, she caught attention with a role in the film Girl of the Night.
That same year, fate handed her the role that would define her legacy—Lisa Grimaldi on As the World Turns. Originally meant to appear for just a brief time, Lisa quickly became one of daytime television’s most iconic and enduring characters. Fulton embraced the role with such passion and flair that she portrayed Lisa for an incredible 50 years, right up until the show's final curtain call in 2010.
