Amid years of intense insecurity in Eha-Amufu, Isi-Uzo LGA, relief has finally reached the community as Governor Peter Mbah’s security team stormed the area with three surveillance helicopters, working in partnership with the Nigerian Air Force.
Once plagued by attacks and displacement, locals expressed joy and renewed confidence as security officials moved to clear the forests of criminal remnants. Fears over frequent helicopter sightings were addressed, with officials assuring residents the aircraft were part of surveillance and training efforts—not threats.
In a powerful show of progress, the Anglican Bishop of Eha-Amufu announced the return of Sunday services after years of closure, while the community prepares for a full return to their farms and homes.
Governor Mbah’s administration has also completed a 21.7km road to aid security access and is building a 200-hectare farm estate in each of the 11 wards—proof of a bold recovery plan in motion.
