Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has been spotted leaning on the support of his wife, Lauren Sánchez, as they attended the funeral of his late mother, Jacklyn Bezos, in Florida.

The couple, who tied the knot in June, arrived hand-in-hand at the Caballero Rivero Westchester Funeral Home in West Miami on Friday. They joined close family members, including Jeff’s brother Mark and stepfather Mike, for the private service.

The farewell was kept strictly intimate, with fewer than 50 people said to be in attendance. It was a quiet moment for the family to honour Jacklyn, who passed away at the age of 78 after battling Lewy Body Dementia, a progressive brain disorder.

Jeff had announced his mother’s passing on Instagram last week, sharing that she died peacefully surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and husband. “I know she felt our love in those final moments,” he wrote in his tribute.

Due to her health challenges, Jacklyn was unable to attend Jeff and Lauren’s star-studded wedding in Italy earlier this year — a ceremony graced by global icons like Kim Kardashian, Oprah Winfrey, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Orlando Bloom.

Jacklyn’s death marks a painful loss for the Bezos family, as they bid farewell to their matriarch in a solemn ceremony far from the spotlight.
