Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga Shine at 2025 MTV VMAsThe 2025 MTV Video Music Awards held on Sunday night, September 8, at the UBS Arena in New York, with rap legend LL Cool J hosting the star-studded event.
Ariana Grande clinched the night’s top honour, winning Video of the Year for her hit single Brighter Days Ahead. The pop star walked away with three awards in total, sealing her place as one of the biggest winners of the night.
But it was Lady Gaga who truly dominated the ceremony. The music icon picked up four trophies, including the coveted Artist of the Year award, making her the evening’s biggest winner.
Other highlights of the night included Tate McRae, who grabbed a win for Just Keep Watching (From F1: The Movie), and Sabrina Carpenter, who scooped Best Visual Effects for her song Manchild.
In the Video for Good category, Charli XCX, alongside Billie Eilish, triumphed with their collaboration Guess, while Kendrick Lamar’s powerful Not Like Us won Best Cinematography.
Lady Gaga’s Abracadabra also proved a fan favourite, winning Best Direction and Best Art Direction. Doechii’s Anxiety earned her Best Choreography, while Tate McRae secured another win in the Best Editing category.
The night was a mix of glitz, surprises, and powerful performances, with artists from different genres bringing energy to the stage and leaving fans with unforgettable moments.
The 2025 VMAs once again reminded the world why it remains one of the most celebrated nights in global music culture.
