Damon Dash Files Bankruptcy Over $25m Debt

American music executive and entrepreneur, Damon Dash, has officially filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, admitting he is drowning in debt running into millions.

Court documents show the 54-year-old co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records is battling liabilities of over $25 million, while his total assets are worth just $4,350. Shockingly, he revealed he has only $100 in cash.

Dash, who built his empire alongside Jay-Z and Kareem “Biggs” Burke in the mid-90s, now says he owes between one and 49 creditors. His monthly expenses reportedly stand at $5,200, far beyond what he currently earns.

One major creditor listed in his filings is Josh Webber of Muddy Water Pictures LLC. Dash was previously locked in a legal battle with Webber over their failed film project, Dear Frank. According to him, Webber is owed $4 million.

The situation is worsened by mounting tax issues with both federal and state authorities. Yet, Dash insists he is also owed money, pointing fingers at his former business partner Kareem Burke, as well as Chris Brown, Claudia Jordan, Webber, and others.

While his finances appear bleak, the music mogul hasn’t given up. He’s been actively promoting new film and music projects, hoping they will spark a financial turnaround.
