Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, and Spain Through to U-20 World Cup Quarter-Finals
Four nations have now sealed their spots in the quarter-finals of the ongoing FIFA U-20 World Cup taking place in Chile.
After a dramatic night of football on Wednesday, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, and Spain became the first teams to advance to the last eight.
The qualification came following the conclusion of the Round of 16 games that saw Argentina face Nigeria, and Colombia battle South Africa.
Argentina Crush Nigeria to Advance
Argentina were at their ruthless best as they thrashed Nigeria’s Flying Eagles 4–0 in Santiago. The South American giants dominated the game from start to finish, displaying the attacking flair and precision that have made them one of the tournament favourites.
The result ended Nigeria’s campaign, dashing the team’s hopes of a deep run in the competition. Despite flashes of brilliance in the group stage, the Flying Eagles couldn’t withstand Argentina’s superior pace and finishing on the night.
Other Fixtures Still to Come
The race to complete the quarter-final lineup continues on Thursday, with three exciting matchups lined up.
Paraguay vs Norway
Japan vs France
USA vs Italy
Football fans around the world will be eager to see which teams join the already-qualified sides as the tournament moves closer to the semi-finals.
