Trump Hints at 2028 Comeback, Dismisses VP Idea
Former U.S. President Donald Trump has hinted that he may consider a third shot at the presidency, saying he’s not ruling out another run in 2028.
Trump made the comment on Monday while speaking with reporters aboard Air Force One on his way to Japan. The conversation followed remarks by his former aide, Steve Bannon, who suggested that Trump could return to power for a third term.
When asked directly about the possibility of another campaign, Trump said, “I would love to do it,” adding that he currently has his best approval numbers ever.
Pressed further on whether he was leaving the door open, the former president quipped, “Am I not ruling it out? You’ll have to tell me.”
As expected, Trump didn’t miss the chance to take a swipe at Democrats, saying, “We have a great group of people which they don’t,” before throwing jabs at Representatives Jasmine Crockett and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, whom he described as “low IQ.”
When asked about a theory suggesting he could return to the White House as a vice president, Trump dismissed the idea entirely. He called it “too cute” and said it “wouldn’t be right.”
Whether he’s serious about another run or simply teasing the public remains to be seen — but one thing’s certain, Donald Trump isn’t done stirring the political waters just yet.
