The Difference between JTB Tin Number and FIRS Tin Number.
The JTB TIN is mainly for individuals and business names (like sole proprietorships or small enterprises) that deal with state taxes.
On the other hand, the FIRS TIN is issued to limited liability companies and other organizations with federal tax obligations.
You can easily spot the difference through their formats — JTB TIN numbers contain 10 digits, while FIRS TIN numbers have 12 digits, often written like this: 12345678-0001.
How to Print your JTB TIN Certificate online
Follow these steps to print your TIN certificate on the JTB portal:
- Go to the JTB Portal Tin Individual Request, and search with your basic details, your names, bvn and DOB
- If your details is found on the system, you will be directed to, Tax Payer Verification, where your Tin certificate will be generated and mailed to your email address
- When you searched and your details was not found, follow the next direction on the portal for the next instructions.
