Super Falcons celebrate CAF Women’s Team of the Year award 2025

Super Falcons win CAF Women’s Team of the Year again, proving their dominance across Africa

Nigeria’s Super Falcons have once again reminded Africa who truly rules women’s football. For the third consecutive year, the team has been honoured as the CAF Women’s National Team of the Year, securing the title in 2023, 2024 and now 2025.

The announcement came during the glittering award ceremony held at the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University in Rabat, Morocco a night that brought together top football icons from across the continent.

This year, the Falcons stood tall above two strong contenders: Ghana’s Black Queens and Morocco’s Atlas Lionesses. Their victory follows the historic moment in August 2024 when the team lifted a record-setting 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) trophy, further stamping their authority on the game.

Receiving the award on behalf of the squad was the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Ibrahim Gusau, who applauded the team’s relentless drive and consistency.

With this new honour, the Super Falcons continue to show that they are not just champions of today but the standard for women’s football in Africa, a team whose dominance remains unmatched year after year.
