US Second Lady Usha Vance stirs fresh debate after appearing ringless during an official visit, raising questions about her marriage.

During an official visit to North Carolina, US Second Lady Usha Vance grabbed public attention not for her speech or appearance, but for the noticeable absence of her wedding ring.

Usha arrived at the Albert J. Ellis Airport in Richlands on Thursday, stepping off the aircraft beside First Lady Melania Trump as they headed to Camp Lejeune. 

Photographs from the visit clearly showed her left hand, and the missing ring quickly became the centre of online chatter. Observers also pointed out that the band remained absent throughout the event.

Interestingly, her husband, Vice President JD Vance, still had his wedding ring on during his own engagement in Washington earlier the same day.

This latest sighting has revived discussions that started back in October, when JD Vance openly revealed he once pleaded with Usha to convert from Hinduism to Catholicism a confession many believed pointed to a deeper religious divide between the couple. 

She had also been spotted without her ring earlier this month during a tour of a military medical centre with him.

Responding to fresh speculation, the couple’s spokesperson played down the situation, explaining that Usha is a busy mother of three who often removes her ring while handling chores and sometimes forgets to put it back on.

But the explanation hasn’t convinced everyone. Social media users argue that the Second Lady understands the sensitivity of her public appearances and would be aware that going ringless could spark reactions.

One user commented, “People forget their rings sometimes, but she knows the cameras are always there. This looks intentional, maybe even a statement.”

The couple, who have three children together, have not issued any further comment.
