The incident happened at the Dorayi Chiranchi quarters in Kano following a heart-wrenching attack that claimed the lives of a mother and her six children.

The nightmare began early on January 17, when the Kano State Police received a distress call around 12:10 pm. 

Armed attackers had reportedly forced their way into the residence of Haruna Bashir, turning a quiet home into a scene of unimaginable violence.

The victims have been identified as 35-year-old Fatima Abubakar and her six young children. According to official reports, the intruders used dangerous weapons to inflict fatal injuries on the family before fleeing the scene.

Responding swiftly to the crisis, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, dispatched a high-level team led by DCP Lawal Isah Mani to secure the area.

Unfortunately, upon reaching the Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital, doctors confirmed that all seven victims had passed away.

The police have not taken this lightly. A specialized team from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), headed by ACP Wada Jarma, has been ordered to take over the case.
