Victor Udeh APC registration signals growing political realignment in Enugu as professionals are urged to join governance.
The Chief of Staff to the Governor of Enugu State, Barrister Victor Udeh, has formally registered as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The registration took place on Saturday at Obodo Upo, Umuabi Ward, in Udi Local Government Area of the state, drawing a large crowd of party members and residents.
Speaking shortly after receiving his APC membership card, Udeh urged professionals and technocrats to take active roles in politics, noting that governance benefits when skilled individuals are involved in decision-making.
He explained that while politics is often driven by numbers, long-term success depends on strong relationships with the people and responsiveness to community needs.
According to him, leaders who stay connected to their constituencies earn trust and support, especially during elections.
Addressing party supporters, Udeh said the turnout at the event reflected public appreciation of Governor Peter Mbah’s development projects in Umuabi Ward and Udi LGA.
He described the APC as a rising political force in Enugu State ahead of the 2027 general election, adding that recent developments under the current administration have strengthened public confidence.
Udeh listed Smart Green Schools, primary healthcare centres, road projects, and farm estates as some of the key interventions residents have witnessed in the past two years.
He encouraged residents to formally align with the APC by registering as party members and ensuring they also possess valid voter cards.
Udeh said this was necessary to sustain what he described as the current pace of development and to support both Governor Mbah and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in future elections.
Speaking at the event, Chief Eneukwu said the APC’s shift from manual to electronic registration would help build a credible and accurate membership database.
He noted that Governor Mbah’s performance had generated goodwill for the party across the state and urged residents to channel that support through active party participation.
Eneukwu praised the governor’s leadership style, describing it as focused and impactful, and said party registration was the clearest way for supporters to show commitment.
Other dignitaries at the event included the Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon. Uchenna Ugwu; Chairman of Udi LGA, Hon. Hyginus Agu; APC Caretaker Committee Chairman, Dr. Ben Nwoye; and former state party chairman, Chief Ugochukwu Agballa.
They described the crowd as evidence that the governor’s move to the APC reflected the broader will of the people.
Hon. Agu said the visible changes in Udi and across Enugu State naturally attract support for the APC, adding that the party aims to rank among the top states in the ongoing registration exercise.
The event attracted political leaders, party stakeholders, and supporters from different parts of Enugu State, further underscoring growing political activity ahead of the next election cycle.
