Residents of Janjala village in Kagarko Local Government Area are living in fear after armed bandits stormed their community in the early hours of Monday, March 2.

The attackers arrived around 12:30 am, shooting indiscriminately to throw the village into confusion. During the chaos, an unspecified number of residents were rounded up and forced into the bush.

A 25-year-old man, identified as Shamsu Adamu, survived the attack but sustained a serious gunshot wound to his stomach. Two community members later helped him reach the Kagarko police division to report the incident.

Adamu was immediately moved to the General Hospital in Kagarko, where he is currently receiving medical treatment.

In response to the attack, a joint team of security operatives and local vigilantes has been deployed to the area. The team is currently combing the surrounding forests in a frantic effort to track the kidnappers and rescue the abducted victims.

While the exact number of those taken remains unclear, security sources confirm that efforts are ongoing to ensure everyone returns home safely.
