A Spanish court has delivered a severe judgment, sentencing eight tourists to a combined total of 73 years in prison for the gang rape of an 18-year-old British woman in the holiday resort of Magaluf.

The convicted group, consisting of seven French citizens and one Swiss national, carried out the vile attack in August 2023 at a well-known hotel.

Details presented during the trial revealed that two of the men originally lured the semi-conscious victim back to their hotel room after plying her with alcohol.

Disturbingly, they then invited the other six men into the room to participate in the sexual assault.

Adding significantly to the heinous nature of the crime, the attackers filmed their actions and shared the degrading footage on Snapchat.

Police investigators discovered multiple videos on the suspects' phones, which showed them laughing and seemingly enjoying themselves during the assault. Prosecutors argued this evidence proved a clear intention to violate and humiliate the victim.

The victim bravely recounted waking up surrounded by the men holding up their mobile phones to record her. She ultimately managed to flee the hotel room and, with crucial assistance from hotel staff, alerted local police, leading to the immediate investigation and subsequent arrests by Spain’s Civil Guard.
