Broadway performance was halted on Tuesday as Megan Thee Stallion was rushed to the hospital. Fans await updates on the rapper’s medical condition.
A local medical facility received American rapper Megan Thee Stallion on Tuesday night following a sudden health crisis during a live performance. The 31-year-old music star was appearing in the Broadway production Moulin Rouge! The Musical when she became "very ill" mid-show.
A medical evaluation is currently being conducted on the artiste at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre’s request. This development was confirmed by a representative for the rapper, who noted that symptoms manifested during the Tuesday night production. The show was abruptly paused by stage management. It was later concluded without the star’s return.
Concerns were amplified by hairstylist and close associate Kellon Deryck. Prayers were requested by Deryck via the social media platform X, where he confirmed that the inner circle remained at the hospital.
The rapper had only recently made her Broadway debut last week. She was cast in the prominent role of The Zidler. While her residency is scheduled to run through May 17, her future participation in the show has not been confirmed by stakeholders.
"Additional updates will be shared as more information becomes available," a statement from her management team read.
Social media reports from attendees suggest the star appeared in good health during the initial scenes. However, the atmosphere shifted when the production was halted. No specific diagnosis has been released by medical personnel or the artiste’s representatives at this time.
