Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Owo student found dead in off-campus residence

A dark cloud is hanging over Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo. A 20-year-old student has been found dead in his off-campus home, leaving the entire school community in deep shock. 

The deceased has been identified as Audi Emmanuel. He was a student in the Department of Computer Engineering before his sudden death over the weekend. Emmanuel's lifeless body was discovered hanging from a rope tied to the ceiling of his room. 

The grim discovery has left his friends and classmates completely devastated. The Ondo State Police Command has stepped into the matter. Police spokesperson, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, confirmed the tragic incident to journalists. 

He noted that the event happened at Emure-Ile, where the student resided off campus. According to him, police operatives quickly rushed to the scene as soon as the report came in. 

Officers recovered the body and immediately deposited it at the morgue. Jimoh stated that an autopsy will be carried out to confirm the exact cause of death. 

While early observations point towards suicide, the police are not taking anything for granted. The command has assured the public that a thorough investigation is already ongoing. 

Detectives are working to uncover the full circumstances that led to the young student's death. For now, the polytechnic community waits anxiously for answers as they mourn the loss of one of their own.
