Jamie King Divorce: Austin Sosa Seeks Default Split in Court

Hollywood actress Jamie King is back in the headlines, and this time it is not for a new film role.

Her estranged husband, banker Austin Sosa, is pushing to end their brief marriage quickly. He wants the court to wrap things up, even though the two have not reached a full settlement.

According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Sosa filed to end the marriage on Thursday, January 22. The filing came less than a year after the couple quietly tied the knot.

Reports say they have been married since July 2025. Their engagement was only announced in July, about seven months before the split news broke.

Sosa is reportedly asking the judge to move forward without waiting for King's response. In the papers, he notes there are no children from the union, and he is not asking for spousal support.

King, 46, says she did not see it coming.

"I was completely blindsided by the divorce filing, which came out of nowhere. I was with Austin the night before it became public, and while like many marriages we had normal challenges, I genuinely believed we were working on our relationship," she told Us Weekly.

The actress also shut down rumours linking her to hotelier Vikram Chatwal. She was spotted with him in Los Angeles weeks before the filing, but she insists it was strictly work.

"Any recent interactions being referenced publicly were strictly professional business meetings and have no connection to this private matter," King said.

For King, the focus is now on her career and her two sons. She shares James, 12, and Leo, 10, with her first husband, producer Kyle Newman.

King filed for divorce from Newman in May 2020 after 13 years of marriage. That divorce was finally settled in September 2023 after a long custody battle.

She says this second split is deeply personal and wants privacy as she moves forward.

"My focus right now is my work and, above all, my children. This is deeply personal and should remain private," she told the outlet.

Sosa has not spoken publicly since filing. The court will now decide whether to grant the default judgment and officially close the chapter on one of Hollywood’s shortest secret marriages.
