The former speaker of Enugu State, Rt. Hon. Eugene Odo has been appointed by Tinubu as member of the newly constituted University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) Governing Council. Eugene Odo was selected as the South-East representative in the list of key appointments released on Monday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

 The appointments were necessitated as the President in his renewed efforts to reposition all federal tertiary institution for excellence and global competitiveness.

Hon. Eugene Odo is a seasoned lawmaker during the administration of Sullivan Iheanacho Chime, He is expected to bring his wealth of experience to bear on the development of Nigeria's top tertiary institution.

Eugene Odo was born and raised in Ukehe in Igbo Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State, he is well known for his astute leadership, commitment to educational advancement and his legislative acumen that was well known during the period.

His appointment is well celebrated by friends and family in and outside of Enugu.
