The Police brutality in Markudi has resulted in the death of a 23-year old final year student. The death of Emmanuella Ahenjir from the Federal University Wukari has errupted in a protest in Benue State capital.

Following the reported killing of Emmanuella Ahenjir by police personnel who shot him dead last Friday morning at the Wurukum roundabout while riding in a vehicle coming from the Gyado Villa area of the town.

The incident, which has sparked widespread outrage, has drawn protesters, mostly youths to the streets, led by prominent gender rights activist, Ukan Kurugh.

The demonstrators gathered in large numbers at the Wurukum roundabout, wielding placards with inscriptions such as "End Police Brutality" and "Justice for Emmanuella."

The protesters have several demands, requesting a thorough investigation and immediate action from the authorities.
