Rema Nigerian award winner and Afrobeat singer has come to appreciate the trolls and criticism he received online from fans as a source of his motivation that transform his career. 

‎In a video interview he had recently, Rema revealed how he did not allow the negative criticism from trolls on social media to negatively impact his career but rather used it as a means of growth.

‎He said people troll him for his unique sound, According to him, It is beautiful to see what people troll and criticize me for, the trolling actually pushed me forward rather than holding me back.

‎“It is beautiful to see something that people troll and criticise me for. And, you know what? I’m benefiting from that. Imagine if I had stopped or listened to trolls,” he said.

‎In addition, he said if he had allow the noise from trolls get to him, his global impact today would likely not exist.

‎“And four years later, it paid. And more to come,” he continued.

‎Rema added that his Afrobeat career has broken new grounds that other artists have not had the privilege to reach. He talked about his tours in India and defined it as a huge deal.
