Rita Edochie, a 61-year-old Nollywood actress from Anambra with four children, has raised an eyebrow over what she describes as the increasing indecency in fashion at white weddings and public events.

On her Instagram page, @ritaedochie, she shared her views alongside a video of a woman dressed indecently at Ruby Ojiakor's wedding. Ruby Ojiakor is a Nollywood actress who got married at the weekend.

The post she shared on Instagram received a series of responses. It read:

“White wedding signifies cleanliness, godliness, and purity, but the way dem come dey naked dey attend am these days sef nawa.”

The troubled water:

In the caption, she expressed her frustration with the rising trend of revealing outfits among women, calling it “a disturbing trend” and questioning the message it sends to the younger generation.

She wrote:

“What will your children say seeing this on social media?... It is better to leave your house stark naked to wherever you're going. At least the world will know you're very pretty and mad at the same time... Mothers of 4 or 5 be naked too?”

Rita emphasized the need to promote modesty and self-respect, urging the public to reconsider their dressing choices, especially at the start of a new month. She also added that she maintains zero tolerance for indecency and advised people to avoid approaching her in inappropriate outfits.
