Shock as 11-Year-Old Girl Gives Birth at Home in Oklahoma, Parents Charged

Authorities in Oklahoma have arrested a couple after their 11-year-old daughter gave birth at home without medical help.

The girl’s mother, Cherie Walker (33), and stepfather, Dustin Walker (34), are facing felony child neglect charges after their daughter delivered a full-term baby on August 16.

According to court documents cited by local media, the child was 36 weeks pregnant at the time. Despite this, her parents claimed they had no idea she was expecting.

Investigators revealed the girl had not seen a doctor in over a year and received no prenatal care throughout her pregnancy. The incident only came to light when she was rushed to the hospital after giving birth.

Muskogee County Assistant District Attorney, Janet Hutson, described the case as deeply disturbing.

“I was horror-stricken to find out it’s an 11-year-old little girl who’s given birth. She had no medical care, and she had no one to be with her,” Hutson said.

Both parents are being held at Muskogee County Jail on a $100,000 bond each. Their first court appearance is scheduled for September 3.

Authorities say more charges could follow once a paternity test determines the baby’s father.

“This child is traumatized,” Hutson added. “Not only has someone gotten her pregnant, but she gave birth at home without medical assistance. This is something that will affect her for the rest of her life.”
