Simi Condemns Viral Nude Exposure of Ibom Air Passenger

Nigerian singer, Simisola Kosoko, popularly known as Simi, has criticised the circulation of an uncensored video showing an Ibom Air passenger, Comfort Emmanson, being forcefully removed from a flight with her chest exposed.

The incident occurred on Sunday during a flight from Uyo to Lagos. Reports indicate that Emmanson allegedly ignored repeated instructions from the cabin crew to switch off her phone before takeoff. Another passenger was said to have turned off the device on her behalf, sparking a heated confrontation.

Upon landing, the situation reportedly escalated as Emmanson attacked the flight’s purser, yanked off her wig, smashed her glasses on the floor, and allegedly attempted to use a fire extinguisher as a weapon. She was restrained by security personnel, taken into custody, arraigned in court, and remanded at Kirikiri Correctional Centre. Ibom Air has since imposed a lifetime ban on her.

Reacting to the viral footage, Simi decried what she described as a gross invasion of privacy. She questioned why the person who recorded and shared the video—without blurring the exposed chest—has not been held accountable.

“Let’s say the woman misbehaved,” Simi wrote on social media. “But someone filmed her in that state and posted it online for millions to see, when only a handful of people actually witnessed it. That also deserves punishment. You can’t condemn one madness and ignore another.”
