Atiku Decries Kebbi School Attack, Urges Security Overhaul

Atiku condemns Kebbi school attack as fresh security lapses deepen fear across northern communities.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has expressed strong concern over the brutal attack on Government Girls Comprehensive Senior Secondary School, Maga, in Kebbi State, where armed men killed a vice-principal and abducted several students.

In a statement shared on X, Atiku described the incident as another painful reminder of Nigeria’s worsening security situation.

He also condemned the murder of an APC chieftain, Umar Moriki, and the mass abductions recorded in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State, where entire families including women and children were taken away by gunmen.

According to him, the violence spreading across different parts of the country shows how deep Nigeria’s security challenges have become.

He noted that communities in Plateau, Benue and other states continue to suffer repeated attacks, while residents of Shanono LGA in Kano are now fleeing their homes out of fear.

Atiku urged the Federal Government to urgently overhaul the security architecture, boost deployments to vulnerable communities, and strengthen intelligence-driven operations.

He stressed that Nigerians deserve nothing less than protection, dignity and lasting peace.
