DSS Sacks 115 Officers, Warns Nigerians Against Fake Operatives
The Department of State Services (DSS) has dismissed 115 of its personnel as part of ongoing internal reforms aimed at cleansing the agency and maintaining strict professional standards.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the secret police explained that the dismissals were carried out over a period of time as part of broader efforts to tackle misconduct and corruption within the Service.
The DSS cautioned members of the public to be careful of some of the dismissed officers who still pose as active operatives to defraud unsuspecting Nigerians.
“Following earlier warnings about the activities of Barry Donald and Victor Onyedikachi Godwin, the Service deems it necessary to alert citizens about other dismissed staff still parading themselves as DSS personnel,” the statement said.
The agency urged Nigerians to avoid any form of business or official dealings with such individuals, adding that their names and identities have been published on the DSS official website for public awareness.
