Dunamis pastor dies in crash while fleeing bandits attack after Makurdi crusade, family confirms tragic loss.
Tragedy has struck the Dunamis Christian community following the death of a pastor who reportedly lost his life while trying to escape suspected bandits.
Pastor Francis Aduh Ojo, who served at Dunamis International Gospel Centre, died in an auto crash on Thursday, February 12, 2026.
According to a family member, the pastor was returning from Makurdi after attending a church crusade when he encountered armed bandits operating along the road.
In an attempt to escape the attackers, he reportedly lost control of his vehicle and was involved in a crash. He died instantly.
His nephew, Abuja Richard Enemona, confirmed the incident in a Facebook post on Friday.
He wrote that his uncle ran into bandits during their operation and tried to flee before the fatal accident occurred.
The news has left the family and their community in deep sorrow.
“Rest well uncle Pastor Abraham Francis Aduh Ojo,” the nephew wrote in his tribute, describing the loss as painful for the entire family.
Until his death, Pastor Ojo was actively serving in Dunamis church and had just concluded Makurdi crusade with Pastor Paul before the tragic incident.
The incident adds to rising concerns about security along major highways, especially in areas where armed groups have been reported to operate.
Community members say the loss is not only personal but a reminder of the risks faced by travellers on certain routes.
