NAHCON Chairman Professor Abdullahi Saleh has resigned, citing personal reflection and the commission's best interest.
The National Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Professor Abdullahi Saleh, has officially resigned from his position.
The news of his departure filtered out on Monday night. While many were caught off guard, sources close to the former chairman say the decision came after a period of deep personal reflection.
Contrary to what some might think, insiders insist there was no "boardroom wahala" or external pressure involved.
Professor Saleh reportedly felt that stepping aside at this time was simply the best move for the commission’s growth and stability.
During his tenure, the Professor was known for pushing reforms to improve corporate governance and make the Hajj agency more transparent. He believes his exit will allow the commission to continue on its path of institutional progress.
As of Tuesday morning, NAHCON has not yet issued a formal press release regarding the resignation. However, the Hajj community is already looking ahead to see who will lead the commission in its next chapter.
