Victor Osimhen could feature for Galatasaray with a protective splint as he races to be fit for the critical Istanbul derby against Fenerbahce.
Galatasaray fans might see Victor Osimhen back on the pitch sooner than expected, though he may require extra protection to play.
The Super Eagles striker is currently recovering from surgery to repair a hand fracture. The injury occurred during a heated Champions League battle against Liverpool, following a strong collision with defender Ibrahima Konaté.
Turkish football analyst Arda Özkurt has provided an update on the striker's condition. He reports that Osimhen could wear a special protective splint on his arm to speed up his return.
This would allow him to rejoin the squad without risking further damage to the healing bone.
This is not the first time the striker has adapted his gear for safety. He already wears a protective mask on his face following a cheekbone injury suffered in 2021.
The target for his comeback is now the highly anticipated Istanbul derby against Fenerbahçe on April 26. His presence will be vital as the club fights to maintain their position at the top of the table.
Despite this setback, Osimhen has been in sensational form this season. He has netted 19 goals and provided seven assists in just 29 appearances, proving his worth as a key asset for the Turkish giants.
