A Nigerian soldier has been dismissed after posting a viral video urging politicians to enlist their sons to fight insurgents.

In the widely shared video, the soldier expressed deep frustration over the high death toll of his colleagues fighting insurgency.
He challenged political office holders including governors, senators, and ministers to enlist their own sons in the military. He argued that this would demonstrate true shared sacrifice and commitment to ending the security crisis.
According to reports, Olamilekan was picked up on February 11 in Maiduguri before being transferred to Abuja. Sources indicate he was denied access to legal representation and was not allowed to speak directly with his family.
It was gathered that he has spent nearly five years on the frontline without a promotion. The Nigerian Army is yet to issue an official statement regarding the dismissal.
