Terrence Howard has finally opened up about the explosive moment that derailed his career in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Looking back, the actor admits that a quick temper and a direct threat to a powerful producer cost him millions of dollars.
Speaking on the PBD Podcast, Howard recounted a confrontation with producer Joel Silver during the promotion of the film The Brave One.
The dispute started over "billing" basically, whose name appears first on the movie posters. Howard was unhappy that he wasn't listed alongside lead actress Jodie Foster.
When Silver explained that Howard held a supporting role, the actor didn’t take it well. In a moment of heat, Howard told the producer that if he ever spoke to him that way again, he would knock his teeth out.

That single threat had a massive domino effect. Joel Silver’s producing partner at the time was Susan Downey, who was heavily involved in the Iron Man franchise. Not long after the incident, Howard found himself replaced by Don Cheadle for Iron Man 2.
The actor also shared a sobering "reality check" he received from Denzel Washington. The veteran actor told him plainly that he was blowing his own opportunities through his behavior.
