The Lagos Police Command has dismissed four officers linked to the tragic killing of seven traders in Owode Onirin.
The Lagos State Police Command has taken a decisive step toward justice. Four police officers have been officially dismissed from the force following their alleged roles in the killing of seven traders at Owode Onirin.
State Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, broke the news during a press briefing at the Ikeja Police Officers’ Mess. He made it clear that the command is determined to hold its own accountable for the lives lost.
The tragic incident, which dates back to August 2025, reportedly stemmed from a violent clash involving land grabbers and local traders.
Investigations revealed a shocking twist: the dismissed officers were not originally stationed in Lagos. They were allegedly brought into the state from Nasarawa by a prime suspect named Ariori to carry out the unlawful operation.
CP Jimoh assured the public that the case is being handled with total transparency. He emphasized that the police will not be intimidated by any person or group, regardless of their influence.
"This matter has not been swept under the carpet," the CP stated firmly. He added that the command is relying on solid evidence, including autopsy and ballistic reports, to ensure a successful prosecution in court.
For those worried about the pace of the case, the Commissioner shared a positive update. He noted that the investigation is already 98% complete, and the final steps are being taken to bring all culprits to book.
As Lagosians look on, this move sends a strong signal that the authorities are serious about protecting citizens and maintaining law and order across the state.
