A mood of sorrow has enveloped a family in Enugu State following the tragic death of there mother in the hands of kidnappers.
The victim’s son, Ezeh Harris Smith, shared the painful news on social media. He revealed that his mother left her home on Wednesday, May 8, full of life and in good health. The family had no idea that would be the last time they would see her alive.
According to reports, tragedy struck the very next day. The woman fell into the hands of criminal elements at Obioma in Udi, Enugu State. She was killed by her abductors on Thursday, May 9.
Smith expressed his deep anguish over the incident. In a touching tribute, he mentioned that he never expected the popular phrase "Nigeria happened to me" to become a reality for his family.
He described his late mother as a queen who was taken away too soon. The grieving son lamented that no one deserves to lose their life in such a cruel manner. He identified the deceased as Ngozi Josephine Udobi Eze nneoma.
The family has asked for prayers as they navigate this difficult period of darkness. The tragic event highlights the growing security concerns residents face in the region.
