Primate Ayodele blasts Tinubu and Makinde over the Oyo abduction, warning of political disgrace if abducted children die.
Primate Elijah Ayodele of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church is not holding back. He has launched a fierce attack on Nigerian politicians following the recent abduction of students and teachers in Oyo State.
In a statement released by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, the cleric described the nation's political leaders as heartless and satanic. He warned that nemesis will soon catch up with them for their actions.
President Bola Tinubu was a major target of the prophet's frustration. Ayodele declared that the President has failed woefully when it comes to securing the nation. He issued a stark warning about the 2027 elections.
According to the prophet, if the abducted children die in captivity, Tinubu should forget about a second term in office. He reminded the government that the growing insecurity mirrors the events that led to the downfall of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, also felt the heat. Ayodele heavily criticized the governor for attending a political rally where his presidential ambition was ratified. He found it insensitive for Makinde to be celebrating a "fake ambition" while his state was dealing with a tragic kidnapping.
The cleric expressed deep disappointment with the country's security architecture. He revealed that he had warned about an attack in Oyo State at least ten times, specifically mentioning schools. Yet, the government chose to ignore him.
Ayodele lamented that Nigerian leaders treat those who offer genuine solutions as jesters. He questioned why the country continues to stray from God's plan.
Religious bodies did not escape his wrath either. He called the situation a shame to the Christian Association of Nigeria, the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, and Islamic groups. In his view, these bodies have failed by refusing to tell the government the bitter truth.
The prophet also took a swipe at clerics who are on the government payroll. He urged them to step down and speak up for the people.
He noted that even collaborative efforts to pray for the nation often fail because these religious leaders lack the commitment to see it through.
Ayodele did not leave out traditional rulers in Yorubaland. He stated that the blood of the innocent is crying out. The ongoing violence, he said, is a disgrace to the monarchs and is bringing bitterness to the region.
His final plea was a direct charge to the President. He urged Tinubu to do whatever it takes to rescue the children and restore peace to the country before it is too late.
