Full list of winners from Nigeria's June 20, 2026 by-elections in Enugu, Rivers, Ondo, Kano and Kebbi as declared by INEC.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) concluded collation on Saturday, June 20, 2026, for by-elections held across six constituencies.
The polls were conducted to fill vacant seats in the Senate, House of Representatives and state assemblies following deaths and resignations.
Voting took place in Enugu North, Nasarawa North, Rivers South-East, Ondo South, Dawakin Kudu/Warawa in Kano, and Zuru in Kebbi. INEC returning officers announced results at local collation centres, with the APC taking most seats and the PDP holding Rivers South-East.
Full list of winners by state Enugu — Enugu North Senatorial District
Winner: Ikeje Asogwa (APC)
INEC declared APC's Asogwa Ikeje Israel the winner with 162,360 votes. The election followed the death of Senator Okey Ezea in November 2025.
He defeated PDP's Nestor Ezeme, who scored 9,299 votes, amid reports of violence and BVAS issues in some units.
Rivers — Two seats
1. Rivers South-East Senatorial District
Winner: Olaka Nwogu (PDP)
INEC declared Nwoku Olaka Johnson of the PDP winner with 47,961 votes. He outpaced APC's Osarosaka Ebenezer Erewari (1,647 votes) and AA's Douglas Fabeke Beeka (1,175 votes). The seat became vacant after Senator Barry Barinada Mpigi died in February 2026.
2. Khana 2 State Constituency
Winner: Henrietta Bulabari (APC)
The APC candidate polled 7,647 votes to win the Rivers State House of Assembly seat. Out of 71,914 registered voters, 7,834 cast ballots, with 7,800 valid votes and 34 rejected. Bulabari described the poll as peaceful and promised constituency projects.
Ondo — Ondo South Senatorial District
Winner: Prof. Dayo Faduyile (APC)
INEC announced Faduyile winner on June 21 with 68,474 votes, defeating APM's Adeolu Akinwunmi. Final figures showed Akinwunmi with 1,411 votes and APP's Adesanya Olaoluwa with 213 votes. Total votes cast were 70,770, with 602 rejected ballots. The by-election covered six local governments and was seen as a test run for 2027.
Kano — Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency
Winner: Rabiu Shuaibu (APC)
INEC declared APC's Rabiu Shuaibu winner of the Kano federal seat, while PDP took Rivers South-East and APC took Ondo South. The returning officer confirmed 35,356 votes for the APC candidate, ahead of APM's Lawal Garba Haruna and LP's Abubakar Yahaya Muhammad. INEC described the poll as peaceful and hitch-free.
Kebbi — Zuru State Constituency
Winner: APC candidate (Zuru)
The APC retained the Kebbi State Assembly seat with 4,887 votes, defeating Labour Party's Aliyu Galadima Muhammad. INEC confirmed 5,055 valid votes out of 109,385 registered voters in Zuru LGA.
