Nigerian Sisters in UK Celebrate Double First Class Honours

Corby Nigerian sisters Stephanie and Isabel Offor celebrate double First Class Honours in Engineering and Law in UK now.

Two Nigerian sisters from Corby in the United Kingdom have made their family and community proud with a rare academic achievement.

Stephanie and Isabel Offor both graduated with First Class Honours in the same academic year, in two very demanding fields.

The news was first reported by the Northamptonshire Telegraph on Wednesday, drawing wide attention from Nigerians at home and in the diaspora.

Stephanie Offor studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Leicester. Her sister, Isabel Offor, graduated from the Faculty of Law and Business at Nottingham Trent University.

For many who watched them grow, their success means more than just good grades. It represents the hope and pride of church families, cultural groups, and the wider Nigerian community in both the UK and Nigeria.

Stephanie's journey has already been marked by excellence. She won the prestigious Goldsmith Prize 2025 for her outstanding performance during her placement year.

That strong showing opened a new door for her. She is now set to start her professional career as a Manufacturing Engineer with Caterpillar, the global leader in construction and mining equipment.

Isabel also stood out in her own department. Out of 47 students in her cohort at Nottingham Trent University, only 11 graduated with First Class Honours. She was one of them.

The double celebration has been described as uncommon. Speaking at the sisters' graduation party, Ogo Ogbata, Director of Creativity and Sense Consulting, said the feat is rare.

According to him, seeing two sisters earn First Class in two completely different and tough disciplines, engineering and law with business, is not something you see every day.

Their father, Chidi Offor, said the news felt almost too good to believe. He revealed that they were told the girls were on track for First Class, but it only became real when the official letters came from the universities.

Their mother, Oluchi Offor, could not hide her joy. She said her daughters have given her wings to fly, a moment of pride for any parent.

While Stephanie is preparing to resume at Caterpillar, Isabel is planning the next step in her career after her law and business degree.

Isabel has a message for other young people. She urged them to dream big, work hard, and never let anyone make them feel less than enough.

For Stephanie and Isabel, the First Class Honours are not just certificates. They are the reward for years of focus, sacrifice, and hard work, as they step into new chapters of their professional lives.
