Tinubu Meets Adeleke at Villa After Osun Election Victory

ABUJA - President Bola Tinubu on Thursday met with Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The meeting was held behind closed doors. It was the first official visit by the governor to the State House after his recent victory at the polls.

Obgist News gathered that Adeleke arrived at the Villa on Thursday afternoon. He went straight to the President's office where the meeting took place.

The visit came shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, presented him with his certificate of return.

The certificate presentation confirmed his re-election as governor of Osun State.

According to INEC, Adeleke contested the election on the platform of the Accord party. He scored a total of 511,067 votes.

He defeated his closest rival, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who polled 444,815 votes.

The result gave Adeleke a clear lead in the August 15 governorship election.

Details of the closed-door discussion between President Tinubu and Governor Adeleke were not made public as of the time of filing this report.
