Nvidia Chief Executive Jensen Huang has urged Europe to build its complete artificial intelligence ecosystem, predicting that the technology will become central to every business.
Huang spoke in Stockholm late on Thursday, October 15, where he said every company would eventually become an AI company.
"Every single company will be an AI company eventually. Every single industry will be impacted by AI," he said at the event.
His comments came as part of a European tour that includes a Nvidia-hosted conference in Berlin next week.
Huang said Europe must develop the full technology chain, from data centres to models and applications.
"The important thing for us is to recognise that Europe needs to build out the entire stack," he said.
$8bn invested in European ecosystem
Speaking separately to AFP, Huang disclosed that Nvidia had invested $8 billion in Europe in the past year, with more funding planned.
He said the investments were targeted at high-quality companies that could lift the wider ecosystem.
"We’ve strategically invested in different parts of that ecosystem, really high quality companies that we believe could help lift it, the whole ecosystem in Europe," he told AFP.
He cited British data centre and AI cloud provider Nscale and Dutch cloud provider Nebius as examples.
"In the last one year, we’ve invested $8 billion already. We have another couple of billion dollars in the pipeline," he said. "We’re helping Europe create the AI ecosystem."
Huang was in Stockholm for the launch of Sferical One, a Swedish supercomputer powered by Nvidia chips.
The system is designed to keep sensitive Swedish data and expertise within the country.
During the visit, Volvo Cars also announced an expanded partnership with Nvidia to improve safety technology in its planned self-driving vehicles.
