Joint Task Force Seizes Over 42,000 Litres of Stolen Crude Oil in Niger Delta Raids

Watch: Joint Task Force Seizes Over 42,000 Litres of Stolen Crude Oil

In this video, the Joint Task Force operating in the Niger Delta region intercepts over 42,000 litres of stolen crude oil. Watch the full raid and recovery footage below.

Operation Delta Safe, a joint security task force in the Niger Delta region, has intensified its efforts to combat oil theft and sabotage in the area. The Air Component of the operation has recently destroyed 6 illegal refining sites and 5 Cotonou boats in Rivers State, Nigeria.

The operation has been proactive in safeguarding the nation's economic interests and deterring criminal elements involved in oil theft.

The Nigerian Air Force, alongside other security agencies, remains committed to securing vital government resources and infrastructures in the Niger Delta region. The operations of Operation Delta Safe have led to the neutralization of militants, destruction of camps, and elimination of hostile elements threatening the peace, security, and serenity in the Niger Delta area.

However, civil-military cooperation is not without challenges, and the study recommends reorientation of the military and effective manpower planning and outsourcing as strategies to resolve these challenges.

The Federal Government is determined to curb illegal oil activities in the Niger Delta region, and the Commander of the Joint Taskforce South-South "Operation Delta Safe", Rear Admiral John Okeke, has stated this commitment

In my opinion this should be tackled immediately because when such happens the very question that comes to mind is who in government giving them the crude oil and why? Niger delta can't just do things without the approval of government
