D'banj the koko master himself has declared that him, Timaya and 2Baba are planning a joint tour. This was made known in a recent interview with Adesope live in London, United Kingdom.
The afrobeat sensational relished how afrobeat has transcend from a rising West Africa genre in the 2000s to about 2010s when he and his contemporaries held sway to a global sound.
D'banj also attributed the rise of afrobeat to the support of the African diaspora. He said, 'I was speaking with Timaya the other day and he was like, 'Banger it's okay, you've entertained enough. it is time to come out'. And I said the same thing. I'm speaking to 2Face as well. 2Face was telling me - let's go on a tour together.
He said that him, 2baba and Timaya are huge market, he said there is huge market for everyone. So, yes, we will be going on a tour ... he confirmed
He also used the opportunity to reveal that him and 2Baba will be dropping a new music, titled, "Feeling Good" referring to his fans and that of 2baba for waiting so long. He said looking back 20years, "Now everybody is afrobeats, everybody is African. But I remember when in this London it was not that great for you to say you are a Nigerian. We all wanted to be Jamaicans. Back then, everybody was embracing Jamaica, so for us Africans to be the new pop, it is a big deal.
He also mentions that all recent movies in the UK he has seen usually has Nigeria music in them. So he thanked not only the creatives but also the large African Communities (African Diaspora) that made it happen.
