Liverpool Star Diogo Jota and brother Silva laid to rest

Today, July 5, Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva were laid to rest in Portugal.

‎The funeral took place at Igreja Matriz de Gondomar for the Liverpool striker and his younger sibling at 10am and Liverpool stars and couch were well represented. Captain Virgil van Dijk was at the funeral, 

‎Andy Roberson, Darwin Nunez, Alexis Mac Allister, Joe Gomez and Conor Bradley were also present alongside Ryan Gravenberch, Cody Gakpo and head coach Arne Slot. 

‎Sporting director Richard Hughes and CEO of football Michael Edwards were in attendance.

Jota and brother laid to rest

‎His fellow country Portuguese national teammates were also present, like Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva, Ruben Dias, Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes, Al Hilal's Joao Cancelo and Ruben Neves among many others.

‎Diogo Jota who is just 28, and his brother, Silva, 25, died in a car crash near Zamora in northwestern Spain early on Thursday and burst into flames.

‎The brothers were going back to England through a boat from Northern Spain as Jota prepares to rejoin with Liverpool after a summer break.

‎This unfortunate death occurred just two weeks after he married Rute Cardoso, who is a long time partner. The couples have three children.
