Country music legend Dolly Parton has announced that she will not be performing at the Colosseum in Caesar’s Palace this December as earlier planned.
The 78-year-old singer revealed in an Instagram post on Sunday that her doctors advised her to undergo several medical procedures, making it impossible to prepare adequately for the scheduled concerts.
In her usual lighthearted style, Dolly joked that it felt like she was due for her “100,000-mile checkup,” reassuring fans that while the health issues are serious enough to delay her shows, they are not cosmetic surgeries as some might assume.
The award-winning songwriter emphasized that her fans deserve the very best, noting that many had spent heavily to secure tickets. Some of the resale prices, she pointed out, were as high as $1,500 for even the cheapest seats.
Despite the setback, Dolly stressed that she is not retiring. According to her, this is just a signal from God to slow down a little. She confirmed she will continue working on a number of projects in Nashville while focusing on her recovery.
This year has been particularly tough for the music icon, as she also lost her longtime husband, Carl Dean, in March.
The postponed shows have now been moved to September 2026, giving fans ample time to adjust travel and accommodation plans.
For now, Dolly Parton says her priority is to regain full health, so she can return to the stage and give the kind of performance her fans have always loved.
