Morocco U-17 team celebrates record 16–0 World Cup victory over New Caledonia

Morocco sets a new U-17 World Cup record with a 16–0 victory over New Caledonia, keeping their knockout dreams alive.

Morocco has etched its name in FIFA U-17 World Cup history after a jaw-dropping 16–0 victory over New Caledonia the biggest win ever recorded in the tournament.

The result shattered Spain’s long-standing 13–0 record and revived Morocco’s hopes of progressing to the knockout stages.

Sunday’s clash was one-way traffic from start to finish, with the North African side showing no mercy. Youngster Abdelali Eddaoudi stole the spotlight, bagging two goals and dictating play so well that he was named Player of the Match.

For New Caledonia, it was a nightmare outing. Their misery deepened when Typhan Dreuko and Jean Canehmez were both sent off before halftime, leaving them to battle with just nine men.

With total control and wide-open space, Morocco kept the goals flowing. Oualid Ibn Salah, Ziyad Baha, Nahel Haddani, Ismail El Aoud, and Abdellah Ouazane all netted twice, helping the team cruise into record-breaking territory.

The massive win lifts Morocco to third place in Group B, trailing Japan and Portugal. However, their qualification now rests on other group results as they hope to advance as one of the best third-placed teams.

It was a statement performance — one that not only made headlines but also sent a strong message to other contenders in the tournament.
