The Government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is now charging small business for Generator noise pollution.
This was revealed by an X user @omonlakiki in his post on X, he showed evidence of the notice pasted in zone 11 area of Abuja by the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) demanding that small business should pay Generator Noise Pollution.
The development has sparked anger among traders and entrepreneurs who rely heavily on generators due to the country’s unstable electricity supply.
Business owners argue that the policy amounts to punishing citizens for a failure that lies squarely with the government.
Despite repeated promises, regular and affordable power supply remains largely unavailable, forcing businesses to generate their own electricity just to stay afloat.
In his words he said,
Tinubu’s anti-people agenda has reached satanic proportions. This is a notification from the FCTA and pasted in front of a small business office at a plaza in Zone 11 Area of Abuja informing business owners that they will be charging generator noise pollution fees going forward.
Is it not wickedness promax for a government that is unable to provide regular and affordable electricity to its citizens to turn around to charge them for generating their own electricity to drive their businesses.
