A young lady, Winnie Miller, has publicly rejected a ₦2.5 million payment deposited into her account by the Chairman of Ahoada Local Government Area in Rivers State, Cheta Epelle. Miller described the money as a "bribe" intended to hush an ongoing assault case.

The controversy began after Miller shared a video highlighting the decaying state of Community Secondary School (CSS) Odioku. She alleged that the Chairman responded by leading thugs to assault her for exposing the school's condition.

"I Cannot Be Bribed"

In a firm statement shared on social media, Miller clarified that she never requested compensation and no agreement was reached between her and the Chairman. She emphasized that she wants justice and accountability rather than "shady payments".

"Transparency is very important to me," Miller stated, making it clear that the funds were sent without her consent. She insisted that the matter must be handled through proper legal and transparent channels.

Refund Delayed by Network Issues

Although she is determined to return the full ₦2.5 million, Miller noted that she has faced some hurdles. She explained that she has attempted to refund the money to the source account, but bank network issues have temporarily stalled the transaction.

She reassured the public that she is still making active efforts to ensure the money is sent back to the Chairman as she continues to seek justice for the alleged attack.
