Burnt luxury buses at Mando Motor Park Kaduna following the CNG explosion.

Residents of Kaduna woke up to startling news on Sunday morning. A loud explosion rocked the Mando Motor Park, destroying property. The blast occurred around 3 am, causing panic in the community.

Initial reports indicated that three luxury buses were burnt. These vehicles belonged to Silver Transport Company. A manager at the firm confirmed that the buses were relatively new. They were powered by Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).

The manager explained that the buses were empty at the time. They were parked ahead of their scheduled interstate trips. Thankfully, no passengers were on board, so no injuries were recorded.

Given the security situation in the region, many feared a bomb attack. However, the Kaduna State Police Command moved swiftly to address these fears.

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, cleared the air. He stated categorically that the incident was not a bomb explosion. Instead, preliminary investigations point to a technical failure.

According to the police, the blast resulted from the overfilling of a gas tank. The pressure became too much for the vehicle's cylinder to handle. The loud sound was a result of that mechanical failure.

Security operatives have since secured the area. The damaged vehicles have been moved to a safe location. The Commissioner of Police has ordered a detailed investigation into the matter.

Authorities are urging the public to remain calm. They advised against spreading unverified information that could cause unnecessary tension. Normal activities have since returned to the park.
