The rivalry between singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, and content creator Carter Efe has finally been settled inside the boxing ring. Carter Efe emerged victorious, ending Portable’s unbeaten celebrity boxing run.

Their bad blood did not just start overnight. It began months ago on social media, with public jabs and online disputes that kept fans talking.

Things got physical back in March 2026. Portable caused a scene at his Odogwu bar in Sango, Ogun State, when he ordered the arrest of Carter Efe and fellow creator Hamzat Kolu Wahala. The issue started because Carter Efe visited the bar without giving prior notice.

Although third parties stepped in to resolve that mess, the tension only grew worse. Promoters saw a huge opportunity and placed the two rivals as the headline fight for the "Chaos in the Ring 4" event.

The fight was held on May 1, 2026, at the Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos. It marked Africa's first major influencer boxing showdown.

The Nigeria Boxing Board of Control sanctioned the bout. Balmoral Group Promotions teamed up with former world champion Amir Khan's AK Promotions to make it happen. Fans around the world watched the action live on DAZN.

Balmoral Group CEO Ezekiel Adamu highlighted the bigger picture before the fight. He explained that while it is entertainment, platforms like this can change lives and show the world what young Nigerians can do.

The buildup to fight night was far from peaceful. During a meetup with music executive Soso Soberekon, who pledged a ₦50 million sponsorship, things got out of hand.

A viral video showed Portable threatening Carter Efe with a bottle. Carter did not back down. He grabbed canes and warned he would retaliate if attacked.

Portable bragged about his street credentials, but Carter Efe slammed the table in anger. He declared that he was also "ajepako" (street-smart), having grown up in Ogun State, and claimed he was even crazier than Portable. Bouncers had to step in to separate them.

At the formal pre-fight face-off, Portable arrived displaying spiritual charms. He warned Efe that he would use him to collect his third boxing belt, reminding everyone that he had already beaten Charles Okocha and Speed Darlington.

Carter Efe fired back with equal confidence. He told Portable he was scared and promised to knock him out with just one punch, leaving the ring as the final judge.

Portable stepped into the ring with an impressive celebrity boxing record. He defeated Nollywood actor Charles Okocha in December 2023 after a financial dispute. He then knocked out singer Speed Darlington in April 2025 when Darlington failed to return for the second round due to injury.

However, fight night told a completely different story. When the bell rang, it was Carter Efe who took control from the very start.

Portable came out swinging wildly in the first round, trying to end things early. But Efe stayed calm, responding with much cleaner and controlled shots.

As the fight moved into the second round, Portable kept up his aggressive style. Yet, Efe only grew sharper, landing precise punches and dictating the pace of the bout.

The third round was more of the same. Efe continued to dominate with accurate combinations, while Portable swung wildly and had to hold on to survive. By the time the final bell rang, the winner was clear to everyone watching.

All three judges scored the bout 27-30 in favor of Carter Efe. The unanimous decision stripped Portable of his celebrity boxing crown. Top Nigerian stars like Timaya and D'banj were in the crowd to witness the upset.

The victory came with massive rewards for Carter Efe. Lagos socialite Emeka Okonkwo, widely known as E-Money, confirmed he would honor his ₦50 million pledge to the new champion.

E-Money reaffirmed his promise right after the fight, declaring that they always put their money where their mouth is and congratulating Carter on his massive win.

The rewards did not stop at the cash prize. Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface also promised Carter Efe a trip to Germany for his impressive performance.

Carter Efe is now officially the Celebrity Boxing King of Nigeria. This landmark event has proven that influencer boxing has a solid commercial future in the country.

Traditional professional boxing structures in Nigeria are still developing. However, celebrity bouts like this are creating new visibility and commercial opportunities for fighters and promoters alike.
