The saxophonist attached to Fuji legend, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, has apologised over his controversial viral song.
The song, which contains lyrics about “unnecessary pregnancy,” sparked outrage after it made the rounds on social media.
Many listeners found the lyrics insensitive and disrespectful to women. The clip quickly went viral, drawing heavy criticism from fans.
In a new video shared online, the saxophonist tendered an open apology to the public. He said his intention was not to insult or mock anyone.
According to him, the song was not meant to promote irresponsibility or make light of a sensitive issue. He admitted that the choice of words was wrong.
He explained that he has listened to the concerns raised by Nigerians. He noted that he understands why the song triggered anger.
He further apologised to women, mothers, and families who felt offended by the lyrics. He said he takes full responsibility for his actions.
