The Commissioner of the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC), Suleiman Yahaya Vokna, has officially resigned from his position.
In a statement he personally signed and shared with journalists, Vokna said his decision was driven by personal reasons and a desire to explore other important interests in his life.
“I, Suleiman Yahaya Vokna, hereby formally announce my resignation from the position of Commissioner with the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission, effective October 17, 2025,” he said.
According to him, the choice to step down was carefully thought out, and he believes it is in the best interest of both himself and the Commission.
Vokna appreciated Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for the confidence reposed in him and for giving him the opportunity to serve the people of Adamawa State.
He noted that his time at the commission was guided by integrity, impartiality, and transparency—values he said are vital to maintaining the credibility of any electoral body.
“I am deeply proud of the collective achievements of the Commission and grateful to my colleagues for their professionalism and teamwork,” he added.
As he bows out, Vokna wished the Governor, the government, and the leadership of ADSIEC continued success in promoting democracy and credible elections in the state.
